Flame-Retardant Wires and Cables

Flame-Retardant Wires and Cables
The main characteristics of flame-retardant wires and cables are their resistance to ignition or limited flame propagation within a certain range. Their flame retardancy complies with the IEC 60332 combustion test requirements, as well as the GB/T 19666-2019 "General Requirements for Flame Retardant and Fire Resistant Wires and Cables or Optical Cables" and GB 20286-2006 "Performance Requirements and Marking for Flame Retardant Products and Components in Public Areas." The XF306.1-2007 "Classification and Requirements for Flame Retardant and Fire Resistant Plastic Insulated Cables—Part 1: Flame Retardant Cables" is applicable to environments requiring flame retardancy and fire resistance.

Product Category

1. Ordinary halogen-containing flame retardant cable:

In the event of a fire, the burning of cables will produce a large amount of corrosive gases and smoke. These cables are suitable for general applications with lower flame retardancy requirements. The flame retardancy levels are classified into four categories: A, B, C, and D, with corresponding cable models denoted by adding ZA, ZB, ZC, or ZD before the standard cable designation.

2. Halogen-free low-smoke flame-retardant cable:

The characteristics of this cable are:

a: No halogenated acid gas is released;  b: Low smoke generation;  c: Minimal production of corrosive gases;  d: Excellent flame retardant performance.

It possesses certain mechanical, physical, and electrical properties that meet the requirements for cable applications. Widely used in nuclear power plants, subway stations, telephone exchanges, mid-to-high-rise buildings controlled by computers, hotels, radio and television stations, important military facilities, oil platforms, and more. The cable models include WDZC-YJY, WDZC-YJY23, WDZC-YJY33, WDZC-YJY43, or WL-YJY.

Main features of the product

1. The direct current resistance, insulation resistance, and withstand voltage test of the conductor of the finished wire and cable should be the same as those of the corresponding ordinary cable.

2. Ordinary flame retardant cables: for Class A and Class B, the fire supply time is 40 minutes, for Class C and Class D, the fire supply time is 20 minutes, and the carbonization height on the sample is not more than 2.5 meters.

3. Halogen free low smoke flame-retardant cable: PH weighted value 24.3, conductivity<10us/mm, toxicity index<5, bundled combustion test, at least meeting Class C requirements, smoke concentration (transmittance)>60%.

4. Oxygen insulated cable (high flame retardant cable)

The bundled combustion test meets and exceeds the requirements of Class A, and the combustion smoke concentration (transmittance) is equal to or close to GB/T17651.2-1998 "Determination of Smoke Density of Cables or Optical Cables Burning under Specific Conditions"; Part 2: Test Procedures and Requirements "standard.

Specially suitable for flame retardant 6KV-35KV medium voltage cables, it not only achieves Class A flame retardancy, but also has certain fire resistance characteristics (i.e. can maintain 2.4Uo insulation level after 20 minutes of combustion).

Note: Users can choose the type and grade of flame-retardant cables according to the installation location.
